Project Dreamers

“Live as if you were living a second time, and as though you had acted wrongly the first time.” These words by Viktor Frankl really stuck with us and they seem especially relevant in this time. It’s easy to become disillusioned in times of such uncertainty, but easy doesn’t do it anymore. During the past two months, it has been challenging to make sense of the version of capitalism that all of us have ascribed to. There have been days when it seemed almost immoral to think of our businesses when the plight of many was being ignored and the consequences of inaction were laid bare for all to see. We had two choices: To succumb to the fear and validate our inability to take action, or build on our own version of capitalism - one that seeks to empower and uplift all stakeholders. We chose the latter.
After speaking with our immediate workforce, we understood there was a real need for organised learning spaces for their children at home in a time when schools are closed. It took us back to the summer of 2018, when Bhaavya’s dad, Neeraj, launched ‘Dignity to Children’: an initiative under his foundation, Project Aspire. The purpose was to give each child a sense of dignity and a clean, loving environment to grow in. To inculcate a feeling of belonging and ownership in children from families with lesser means, he distributed Table-Chair sets for them to have a space of their own.

In continuation of his efforts, we are implementing this project by giving shelved study tables to our team members’ kids, where they can stack their books and study. We just started the conversation and everything else just followed.
This is not a charity, this is our version of capitalism.
